Job Summary and key responsibilities
The End User Compute Engineer is responsible for delivering robust, scalable and secure end-user computing solutions across the business. Sitting within the Core technology team, this role focuses on supporting the configuration, deployment, and management of endpoint devices and applications using Microsoft Intune and related EUC technologies. You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the end-user experience, ensuring devices, applications, and user environments are well-managed, secure, and performant.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure, deploy and manage Windows 10/11 devices using Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager
Configure, deploy and manage virtual desktops and Windows 365 Cloud PC
Package, deploy and maintain applications and updates across the estate
Monitor and support M365 services used by end users (Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, etc.)
Manage Windows Autopilot profiles and provisioning processes
Implement and maintain configuration baselines, compliance policies and security standards across devices
Respond to escalated incidents and service requests related to endpoint management or issues with EUC devices and services
Contribute to the documentation of EUC processes, policies, and technical procedures
Support the roll-out of EUC-related projects and initiatives across the business
Work collaboratively with the Service Desk, Infrastructure, and Security teams to ensure cohesive support and improvement of the end-user environment
What are we looking for:
Proven experience in a EUC or infrastructure engineering role
Experience troubleshooting hardware components, including desktops, laptops, and peripherals
Good knowledge of Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, and modern device management
Strong understanding of Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365 services, Active Directory, EntraID and user adoption strategies
Advanced scripting and automation skills with PowerShell
Knowledge of security best practices to protect user data and systems
Hands-on experience in securing and configuring endpoint environments (BitLocker, Conditional Access, Defender for Endpoint, etc.)
Experience designing and delivering application packaging solutions at scale
Strong understanding of enterprise networking, identity, and cloud integration (Azure AD, Hybrid Join, etc.)
Experience with EUC migrations or major transformation initiatives
Familiarity with modern workplace strategies (Zero Trust, Digital Experience Monitoring, etc.)
Understanding of ITIL/ServiceNow or similar enterprise ITSM tools
Exposure to Mac, iOS/Android MDM in a corporate context
Analytical thinker with the ability to analyse issues and devise effective solutions
Strategic thinker with strong technical delivery skills
Capable of leading initiatives and influencing across teams
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
Highly self-motivated with a focus on continuous improvement
Ability to work effectively within a team and share knowledge with colleagues
Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines
Willingness to stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends
Microsoft Certifications: MD-102, MS-102, or equivalent nice to have but not essential
